GNI EZINE April 2008
Happy Easter From GNI
GNI would like to wish all our members a Happy Easter! We would also like to advise you that the office will be closed from Friday 21st March until Monday 7th April.

On the same note we would like to remind all members that the office is run by one full-time and one part-time member of staff. Due to the numerous meetings needing attended and courses needing overseen there are some occasions that there is no one in the office to take you call. Simply leave a message on our answering machine or email and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

President of BG to attend GNI AGM!!
Paul Garber, the President of British Gymnastics is attending Gymnastics Northern Ireland's AGM on Tuesday 22nd April at Newforge Country Club, Belfast, 20:00.

This is a wonderful show of support from British Gymnastics and no doubt you will all want to meet Paul Garber and hear about the future of British Gymnastics and Gymnastics Northern Ireland.

Members are therefore urged to take advantage of this unique opportunity and attend the event representing your club.

Please remember that each club is entitled to 2 voting representatives, one vote each. If other members of your club wish to attend as non-voters they are very welcome.

The closing date for receipt of nomination forms for roles on the Management Committee and Discipline Technical Committees is Tuesday 25th March 2008. Remember, this is your sport so please make sure you look after it!

Don't Miss our Pre-School Course!!
Only 3 months into 2008 and already 110 people have participated in GNI's courses. Although bulk of the candidates are participating in General Gymnastics courses, the figures for trampoline courses are not too far behind.

Also so far we have successfully held a GMPD course, but perhaps even more worthy of writing home about - A Men's Artistic Course, which until now seemed to be a 'dying discipline' in Northern Ireland. Here's hoping all those MA candidates will go on to do their level 2 and maybe we will eventually see a few more clubs practicing that discipline opening up.

Unfortunately for some, certain courses had to be cancelled due to lack of interest. The next course after Easter will be a Pre-school course starting on the 5th of April and continuing over the weekend of the 19th and 20th. This course will be in Salto and will be tutored by Dawn Dornan.

This is the only Pre-school course we are organizing this year so if you are interested, get your application forms in ASAP so that we don't have to cancel this course.

Finally on Coach Education, please note that the first day of all course of the same level is the same. So for example if you attend a Common Core Day for a Women's Artistic L1 Course, you only need to do the second and third days of any other course at L1.

We are currently discussing the possibility of offering a reduction to candidates who do more than one course think this will probably not be an option until next year.
