| Mens Artistic Course | ||||
The
Men's Artistic Course which took Place at Salto GC at the end of
March was a great success! Despite smaller numbers than our usual courses,
everyone
had a good time and we all learned a lot from course tutor, Aidan
O'Reilly. If all course candidates pass the assessment we will have another
6 MA

forward at last! Visit the Gallery section of our website to see more pics

| Cheerleading | ||||
| Cheerleading is a
fast growing sport which incorporates jumps, dance, tumbling, stunts,
cheers and chants. Earlier this year UKCA and B.A.G.A began exciting integration plans to phase the two organisations together. This means a bigger pool of opportunities to registered members such as more education courses, competition programmes, online registration and resources, and competitive Insurance benefits. There are currently many exciting and progressive events available to schools, clubs and groups just waiting to be grasped! By attaining a qualification to Coach we hope that the sport will blossom and provide you with another avenue of skill development and fun for your classes. Karen Graham is the N.I regional secretary and is currently organising an exciting new course in this discipline. | Recreational Olympics Gymnastics Competition | ||||
7 Crossmaglen GC, Sportability Gym Buddies and Mourne Gymnastics Club all came together on Sat 5th April for the second Recreational Games Competition. Approximately 60 gymnasts with ages ranging from 3 - 14 years took part including children with disabilities. Nikki Mc Alinden of Mourne GC told us 'One gymnast took part that nobody was expecting. Mayor of Newry and Mourne District Council Cllr Michael Cole made his debut performance on the beam, his age undisclosed. I think the Mayor may need a little practice, but he gave it a try and that is the point of Recreational Olympics, rewarding perticipation. Each and every child who took part is a winner and it's important to awknowledge those children'.
