Women's Artistic Couses

GNI are pleased to inform you that the WA Level 1 and 2 courses will run afterall!! The new dates are as follows: Sun 15th June, Sat 5th and Sun 6th July at Salto GC.

Please get your application forms in asap! Remember you do not have to do the common core day if you have already completed a course which is at the same level you are now studying.

Costs for the courses are:

Level 1:£180 (affiliated members) £205 (non affiliated members)

Level 2: £220 (affiliated members) £245 (non affiliated members)

Gymnastics in Colin Area

Funding has been secured for a gymnastics project in Colin and Upper Springfield and coaches are required to oversee it.

This is initially a pilot project and if successful, we aim for it to become a permanent programme available in Colin and Upper Springfield.

Aims

To provide a local gymnastics group which will address the needs of young people with Autism and Learning disabilities in the Colin area

Objectives

This project will run as a pilot scheme for 6 weeks in which young people in the area will be provided with the opportunity to take part in a local gymnastics classes.

Two gymnastics coaches will deliver the training to a group of 20 young people with learning disabilities and autism in 2 venues in Colin, on 2 occasions.

The project will be monitored and evaluated with the aim to deliver this on a permanent basis.

Resources will be secured permanently for use in the Colin area

Young people will be supported to progress to a level where they will avail of the sessions and facilities in Gymnastics, Lisburn

Methodology

2 gymnastics coaches facilitate 1 session twice per week in 2 venues in Colin; Poleglass and Twinbrook. (This is where most need has been identified)

Coach cost: £25 per hour x 2 hours = £50 per session
Twice per week for 6 weeks: £600
Equipment: local community
Venues to be confirmed but we are seeking the support of local schools to use their hall and equipment.

Summary

If successful, we aim to attract much support from schools, local councils, sports funding to deliver this on a more permanent basis however we need to establish the interest from the project and whether it meets the needs of the identified target group.

South West Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Regional Coach

Salary Scale: £25,675 to £27,352
Fulltime – 37hrs per week
3 year fixed term contract (subject to funding)

English Gymnastics in partnership with the Exeter Gymnastics Club and Devon Amateur Gymnastics Association are seeking to recruit a dedicated Men’s Artistic Gymnastics coach to assist in the delivery of the Club and Coach Programme.

The main aim of the Club and Coach Programme is to both increase the standard and numbers of gymnasts in the region, together with the number of high class coaches working in accredited (GymMark) clubs offering high quality gymnastics experiences to their members and to inspire all the gymnasts and coaches so they are motivated and develop to their full potential.

The appointed person will play a key role in increasing the delivery of quality coaching sessions to young people within the South West Region, they will undertake such roles as planning, organising and attending regional coaching and training sessions, working in partnership with the nominated clubs across the region to implement best practice to training plans and development towards national level competitors. The post holder will also have a vital role in the development of coaches by developing a mentoring programme across the region.

The post holder will be required to report to a management group and collate detailed reports on the gymnasts within the programme. Thorough monitoring and evaluation to ensure targets are met is also an essential role requirement.

Applicants should ideally hold a High Performance Coach Certificate in Men’s’ Artistic Gymnastics or be willing to work towards this qualification within 1 year of appointment. Applicant must have experience of coaching gymnastics at a high level. In addition the ability to tutor and mentor other coaches would be beneficial. Excellent IT skills, enthusiasm and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.

The post is offered on a 3 year fixed term contract subject to funding. The post will be based within Exeter Gymnastics Club and work within various clubs and venues across the Region will be required.
