Over 120 gymnasts across Ireland took part in Northern Ireland’s first Gymfusion festival, held at University of Ulster, Jordanstown.  This event was a huge success with around 300 spectators enjoying display gymnastics with a Safari Theme.  The gymnasts performed a variety of routines to music and some in costume, in a theatre style of lights and props.  The clubs involved in this event were Gazelle Gymnastics Club, Carrickfergus Gymnastics Club, Club GymFUN, City of Lisburn Salto NGC, Flight Gymnastics Academy, Precision Display Squad, Phoenix Rhythmic Gymnastics Club and Rathgael Gymnastics and Tumbling Club.  The standard of gymnastics was outstanding throughout and every performance was highly entertaining.

The Deputy President of BG and Director for Northern Ireland, Ray Phillips commented on the day’s events saying, ‘Saturday’s Gymfusion event in Jordanstown demonstrated British Gymnastics’ commitment to its Northern Ireland members to take part in a show style, non-competitive event of fun and friendship.

‘This year we had 123 participants, both girls and boys aged from 5 to 30 and the biggest audience of any Gymfusion event so far!

I look forward to next year when the event will be even bigger and better.’

“Gymfusion was fantastic; I really enjoyed it & look forward to getting involved in it with my new club hopefully next year. It's so different to what most of the gymnasts are used to, which makes it all the more exciting!”
