Women's Artistic Gymnastics |
| Discipline Information: |
This is the most popular discipline
of Gymnastics in the UK and one of the biggest crowd pleasers
at every Olympic Game since 1928. The sport demands body control,
body awareness, suppleness, stamina, coordination, amplitude
and courage. Routines are performed on 4 pieces of apparatus:
Vault, uneven bars, beam and floor.
The World Championships for Women have been organised
since 1934; the European Championships began in 1957 and the
National Championships for women in England were introduced
in 1924. An Olympic discipline.

Mandy
Mc Master is hoping to run a Women's Artistic 'Judging Clinic'
this September. This
would consist of a watered down version of the club judging
course in an attempt to try to drum up some interest prior
to the next full judging course which we hope to run late Feb
2009 or early March 2009 The
course will be held at Salto and there will be a fee of £20
per person. This
is also a really good opportunity to help coaches attain a
better understanding of the requirements of routines for competitions,
particularly with the new competition season about to begin. If
anyone in your club is interested in this please email Mandy:
